Coronavirus/COVID-19 Update: March 21, 2020

Our city and county officials have instituted strict guidelines in response to the Coronavirus.  The authorities suggest that groups under 250 may meet. However, if you are over 60  years old and/or already have health challenges, you are encouraged not to gather in groups of more than 10. Since we have several members who are at risk, Pastor Woodson and the Elders of Bethel Bible Fellowship have decided to move all of our services and meetings to an online format until further notice and not gather physically at the church.

The Old Testament Prophet Habakkuk made a stunning declaration of faith (Hab. 3:17-19) when he knew his country was  going to face horrendous times of trouble and lack.  He said,

Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, 18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! 19 The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights.

Like Habakkuk, we have the opportunity to keep our hearts focused on the Lord and His benefits to us.  We too can choose to be joyful in the God of our Salvation.  Let’s do that today, next week and in the coming months.

We also have the opportunity to worship together remotely. I say we will “worship together” because we are one body, united by the love of Christ even though we will be in different places physically. We  will use ZOOM, which is an easier online format. All you have to do to join the remote service is click the link highlighted below for a video connection that will allow you to see Pastor Woodson and the other participants in the service, or you can dial the phone number highlighted below if you prefer a conference call format. We are continuously working to improve Bethel’s remote worship experience and make it as much like being in the sanctuary as we can. We will keep you updated on our progress.

Also, we will continue emailing the weekly announcements to you. We will, of course, update you with any changes to our services, as necessary.

During this time, if you need pastoral care, please let us know by emailing us at

Let us continue to pray for one another and for our country and for those who do not know the Lord during this difficult time. As believers, we are fully human just as Jesus was fully human and we have to deal with our emotions, just like our Lord did.  Fortunately, we have the Word of God and the Holy Spirit to help us.  Sadly, unbelievers do not have the spiritual resources we have to uplift us.  Let us keep them in prayer and express  love to them  whenever the opportunity is presented.
